Castro Valley Unified School District Appoints
Mistee Hightower-Guzman
for
Marshall Elementary School Principal
Castro Valley, CA – (July 10, 2024) – At the July 10th special board meeting, the Castro Valley Unified School District Board of Education took action to select Mistee Hightower-Guzman for the position of Marshall Elementary School Principal.
Ms. Hightower-Guzman has over ten years of experience in school administration, from elementary to high school, where she served as assistant principal and principal. In her administrative capacity, she introduced Response to Intervention K-2, Professional Learning Communities, and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. She worked with the staff on school-wide initiatives to enhance student engagement and achievement. Furthermore, Ms. Hightower-Guzman collaborated with different parent communities to assist in creating student school plans and communicating district functions. Additionally, as a teacher on special assignments, she designed lessons to help teachers celebrate cultural diversity and implement a social-emotional curriculum.
Ms. Hightower-Guzman earned her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of California, Davis, and her Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from the University of California, Berkeley.
